This weekend, a young and lovely client travelled 4 hours by train to my studio to have her cheongsam custom-made, because my little red book notes convinced her that my clothes were genuine and met her expectations of quality, and that custom-made also meant: a dream come true, only one piece on the world .
Considering her long distance, I offered to facilitate her stay in my small guest room overnight if needed. This warm consideration made her happy and joyful.
Even though our two long-distance micro-telephone calls had enabled me to interpret the bespoke needs and preferences of the client’s characteristics well enough. But her visit gave us more time to talk and spend time with each other, and we had a lot of interesting and happy conversations, giving each other new insights, new understandings and expansions, which was an unexpected and additional gain for us.
